Testing and Evaluation
What IsTesting and Evaluation?
During the evaluation, our team will conduct a thorough assessment of various aspects of communication, including speech, language, and cognitive abilities. Through a series of engaging activities, exercises, and standardized tests, we will gather valuable information to gain a comprehensive understanding of your strengths and areas that may require additional attention.
At Issa Speech Therapy, we believe in fostering a warm and welcoming environment for both children and adults. Our skilled clinicians are skilled in building rapport and establishing trust, ensuring that everyone feels at ease during the evaluation process. We encourage active participation from family members, as their input is essential in providing a holistic understanding of an individual's communication abilities.
Upon completion of the evaluation, our team will analyze the collected data and provide a detailed report outlining the findings. This report will serve as a valuable resource for creating a tailored treatment plan, addressing specific goals and objectives to enhance communication skills effectively.
We are dedicated to supporting you or your loved one every step of the way, and our commitment extends beyond the evaluation process. Our compassionate therapists will work collaboratively with you and your family to design a personalized therapy program, incorporating evidence-based techniques and innovative approaches to ensure optimal progress.
At Issa Speech Therapy, we believe that effective communication is the key to unlocking one's full potential.

What’s Included?
The process of testing and evaluation typically involves the following steps:
Referral: The individual is referred for evaluation by a healthcare provider.
Case history: The SLP conducts an interview with the individual and/or their family to gather information about their medical history, developmental history, and communication abilities.
Standardized testing: The SLP administers standardized tests to assess the individual's speech, language, and communication abilities. These tests are norm-referenced, meaning that the individual's performance is compared to that of other individuals in their age group.
Observations: The SLP observes the individual's communication abilities in various settings, such as in the classroom or during a conversation.
Analysis of data: The SLP analyzes the results of the testing and observations to determine if a communication disorder is present and to identify areas of strength and weakness.
Report: The SLP prepares a written report that summarizes the results of the testing and evaluation and provides recommendations for treatment.
